Would this hurt?...

Would it hurt to get a small infinity sign tattoo on the inside of my finger? I know all tattoos hurt, but i've heard if you get them in certain spots, they won't be as bad. scale of 1-10? thanks.(:

never tried it but remember you hands and fingers have bundles of nerves in them to make it easier for you touch, handle and manipulate things.. I may be wrong but it seems like this would be a sensitive area to get a tattoo. The places that hurt "less" are going to be anywhere where there is a thicker layer of fat, anything where the skin and fat tissues are thin or over a bone that is closer to the surface is worse.

Based on my own experiences with tattoos, you are absolutely right!

yeah it is for fun, a member a couple weeks ago posted something about Lizrdqg and Shooshie's animals w/ mustaches, the way they said it made it sound like it was a conspiracy or meant something (it doesn't) we all got such a giggle out of it we decided to change our prof pics to animals w/ mustaches just make them go O.o hehe ;)

I knew a guy who had a Chinese character tattooed on his hand. One night he asked the waiter in a Chinese restaurant what it meant and the guy said, "He cried like a baby."

But the night I asked him what it meant he said, "Will you buy me a beer?" He said he got more free beers from that tattoo than he paid to have it done. :)

I have a tattoo on my hand. It didn't hurt too bad but it didn't bleed either. It made me really dizzy.

Fingers do have lots of nerve endings, the most sensitive are (of course) the fingertips, the opposite side of where the fingernails are.
I'm diabetic and do blood tests several times a day. That needle hurts more on the tip, and less on the fleshy sides of the finger.
I can't give you a 1-10 scale of the pain, though, because I use 1 very thin tiny needle which I've become very very used to, and so now it's about a .05 pain on that kind of scale.
But tattoo needles, which are thicker and would entail a lot of punctures, are different -- and your own pain tolerance is a factor.
Sorry I can't help more. But if you keep the tat light and tiny, it shouldn't be too bad, but it would certainly hurt more than on the arm, etc.
Btw, the fleshy inner base of the thumb is called the "mound of Venus" and is related to the love life in Palmology. It would also be a good place for an infinity symbol tat, but I'm not sure if it would hurt more or less than side of finger. :)

Keep in mind that tattoos on the hand will fade with time from washing so frequently. My husband was going to get my name around his ring finger because he can't wear his wedding band at work. The tattoo artist said it would not last because washing our hands so often will fade it really fast.

For a man , probably not to much ! I have one on my hand on the skin in between my thumb and first finger and it wasn't bad ! The inside of a finger has a lot of nerves endings and I think it would hurt and not be a good idea ! It wouldn't last long and become faded quickly ! Put it on the flesh on the outside of the hand between your thumb and first finger like mine . You'll like it , mate !
