In the Catholic religion,is premarital sex a sin?

Report as

I don't know if Catholics consider themselves "Christians" or not, but I know in Christianity in general it's wrong. I think that you should wait for marriage to have sex

Me Grimlock think any kind of sex without getting someone pregnant or planned would be a sin to religion.

It's practically a sin even after you are married.

Technically, yes. Whether or not it's a "mortal" sin (you'll go straight to hell if you die without confessing it) is a controversial question in the church. That's what I was able to gather from being in Catholic school for 13 years. My advice? Don't wait til you're married to have sex. That's ridiculous. But at the same time, don't have sex with someone that you don't think you could ever see yourself marrying. Because you never know if you'll get knocked up or not.

In the Catholic religion, thinking about sex is a sin for the worshippers....but apparently it's o.k. for priests to be pedos.

Yes. They absolutely find sex before marriage wrong along with, masterbation, and even getting a divorce...lol also i am in a catholic school, and they talk up christianity so i believe they consider them selfs apart of that, but better because they are catholic and the church, and pope is so amazing. also maybe they way they go about the blessed sacraments might be another facter that makes them different, or the fact they worship marry, and all the saints.....

Both premarital, and extramarital, sex are sins.
The Roman Catholic Church teaches that any deliberate sexual arousal, even just by thinking about it, including masturbation, by either a male or by a female, that is not done within a valid, heterosexual marriage, is wrong, and is a sin. Masturbation is wrong, and a sin, because no new life can come from it, as are homosexual acts.
I hope this helps to fully answer your question.

The viewing of pornography, with or without masturbation, is a sin, because both have, or will have, a bad effect on anyone's present, or future, marriage.

I guess I'm a real bad sinner!!!
Report as
Only you can know if that is true, unless you tell someone you are, or are a public sinner.
If you are Catholic, any sin can be forgiven, in the Sacrament of Reconciliation (with God), also, called Confession, if you are truly sorry for it, and will try hard not to do it, or any other sin, again, and do the penance the priest tells you to do.
If you are not Catholic, your sins can be forgiven, if you sincerely repent of them, and will try hard never to sin again.
This is it, in a nutshell.

I'm catholic. And I already have a plan. I'll just go to confession before I die. That way I can be forgiven and not have to not do that stuff.
Report as
I'm jealous of you! You actually know when you're going to die; and that you will be able to confess just before you do?! Amazing! One warning, to the wise, is sufficient!
