Advice fit drawing a smile?

I draw portraits if people a lot, and I get pretty much exert part of the image perfect, except the mouth. It us really bugging me and any advice would be appreciated.

don't draw every individual tooth. you are only trying to give the illusion of teeth in a smile. allow for some hard and some soft edges, some glint and highlites

I usually draw the line of the mouth first. You know, like when kids are drawing and just draw a curved line for a smile. Then I lightly draw the lips around it. It's important to get the shape for whatever expression your person is doing. Then I shade in the lips, and voila! There is a smile!
