Ferrets don't bite unless they've been abused or neglected with handling. Get one from a breeder as a weaned baby, or get one in good condition from a pet store. make sure you request to hold the ferret BEFORE purchasing and try different angles of petting. If it's super playful and nibbles, that's alright, but discourage nibbling because it can elevate to biting. Also, ONLY get a female if you can find a male to breed it with or if it's spayed. They die if they don't get at it when they sexually mature.
Rabbits are great, they are quiet and small and are usually really friendly. You can train them to jump or stand on their back legs or respond to their name and stuff. They can even be litter trained. Plus, they are ADORABLE
