What does x equal?

Report as
nothing you are just suposed to simplify it down

Yeah, the book is wrong.

5x(x+5) it is simple
(5x)(x)=5x squared
(5)(5)=25
25+x squared=25x squared
"( )" mean multiplication

I don't even know the answer anymore. There's a lot of equation that looks exactly the same but sometimes they differ in procedures

ok good! thats what i thought but because I have my test tomorrow I'm looking at the answer and I'm like oh god I just wanna make sure! :)

That isn't right.

I won't tell you the answer. But, I will get you started. When there are terms like this, it means to multiply the outside term times the first inside term and then multiply it times the second inside term.
When you do that, you get 5xsquared + 25x. Can you add those together?

Report as

Ok this is easy it's just distributive property..... Wait until you get to harder mathematics like college calc

well im doing harded math right now but this is one of the steps I need to do to simplify it so when I'm looking at the answers I'm look whoa... I can't even do this? lol :)
