Why do evil toy companies use lead paint in their products? Aside from causing harm to children, what is in it for them?

Report as

There's no such thing as an evil company.

In "the old days" ... it was because people didn't know better.
Lead was good in paint, because it made the colors bright and durable.

Now, it's because (1) the country the factory is in has no laws against it ... and (2) it's cheaper than the alternative chemicals.

I wonder how much money they save per unit to use the poison.

Alot

Ok if it costs them a dime to make a hundred toy cars that are non toxic. How much less can it cost them to make a hundred toy cars that are toxic? I think the saving are negligible.

I think we are what we do. And when a group or individual does evil things that makes them evil in my book.

It is all about greed.Shame on the Better Business Bureau or whatever the Dept.is called to allow such companies the nerve to use such harmful materials on their products..Whether toys or anything else..Sounds like Special Interest Groups cleaning up .sad....

You think the consumer advocate companies such as the better business bureau had a hand in this? Isn't that like blaming the EPA for polution?

I don't know who to blame..Maybe China , maybe the USA.but it is wrong to sell dangerous, etc. items ..especially when children are involved And it's being done with many in authority knowing it.....It's greedy and It's wrong no matter....Have a good weekend..

Yeah, and the thing is I'm fairly certain the safe paint is just as cheap as the toxic paint. Someone once said It takes just as much effort to be nice as it does to be mean. I think the same goes wiht making unsafe products as well.
