16 divided by 40 times 100, do the math.

I don't feel bad, this isn't math class so I don't believe this effects my grade at any point in time. I am not s computer for I am only human, common human error.

Oh, and you might want to have your eyes checked because last time I checked I put "16 divided by 40 times 100"
16/40=.4
.4x100=40
40% are comic books.

yes, 16 divided by 40x100 is exactly what you said, which to anyone other than you reading, or anyone reading this conversation will take as 16/(40x100). im sorry, but pemdas on keyboard doesn't work properly unless you actually word the problem correctly. perhaps, had you included proper mathmatical punctuation, such as (16/40)x100, or as words, 100 times the value of 16 divided by 40, this entire conversation could have been avoided! apologies for my blatant and correct understanding of what you typed.

I did this whole thing like a fraction. 16 over 40, took 16, divided by 40, now if I read my calculator wrong and if my past three math teachers have no clue what they are talking about, then I believe it is .4, take .4, and times it by 100, which gives you 40%. (Btw read that other comment first apology accepted ignore the other one)

i never said your calculator or your math was wrong when you explained yourself and your bad mathmatical dialect (can't begin to believe you haven't understood a thing ive said so far). i said the way you told the person to "do the math" was completely wrong!!!!!! its as simple as typing half of what you just did!!!! set up fractions, cross multiply, and divide!!!! which is what you did, only faster and less complicated. i posted a correct answer, so i certainly understand how to work this. if you havent seen it yet, look below VVVVVVVVVVV thats the proper way to solve for an unknown percentage. is/of=x/100. what is this amount/total number=?/100%. dividing numbers that low without a calculator takes too long on paper, use this method to avoid all that decimal nonsense. again, im sorry the way you worded your answer was very iffy, but to allow some clarity to the person reading all this, try to be a little more complete with your answers. btw, have a swell night, and thanks for the chat!

40% 16/40=x/100 cross multiply and solve for x.

this might make little sense, but trust me it works: divide 40 by 100, then multiply the answer from that by 16. that leaves you with 6.4, so just make that a percent by adding the symbol.
