How do i convince my health teacher that mcdonalds is not healthier than organic fruits and vegetables?

she keeps saying that mcdonalds has all the categories from the food pyramid like the burgers having bread and meat that gives protiens etc.

It sounds like you are arguing two different points. Your teacher's claim that MacDonald's has all the food groups is absolutely correct. But just having the food groups doesn't make it healthy. The fat, cholesterol, additives, and such makes the food pretty unhealthy. Is she claiming that McDonald's is healthy or just that they represent all the major food groups?

You have to pay her more than McDonald's is, but you will be financially competing with a multibillion dollar corporation.

well she is right - to a point. You could eat healthy at McD's - But It wouldn't have the variety of other places

Not really. Even there salads have a ton of salt and crap in 'em.
Report as
The salads are no different than salads you'd make at home. They also have oatmeal (which is very healthy), fruit parfaits, fresh fruits, etc. But people chose to eat the unhealthy stuff. There is healthy stuff there.
Report as
But the greens and fruits aren't as fresh i mean..... and oatmeal IS still pretty heathy if it doesn't have a ton of sugar.

If your teacher thinks Mc Donalds is healthier than fruits and vegetables then they should not be a health teacher. Tell them that just because Mc Donalds uses soy in their products does not erase the fact that their food is basically fake and nasty. And that fruits and vegetables are not processed, they're natural so therefore, they're healthier. Hope this helps!

Not arguing with the overall point but Macs does have fruit and salads on the menu along with snack wraps which are a low calorie choice.

Love your red hair by the way.
Report as
I know, but it is still gross and not the best choice. If people want a rap then they should make one..
Report as
And thanks random person I do not know. I just dyed the tips orange so that it looks like fire.
Report as
Perhaps, but what's the nutritional difference between, me, making a wrap with half an angus beef patty, lettuce, tomato, pickle, & onion with no mayo and someone else making it for me?
Report as
Good choice on the orange; it's really spectacular.

It is true that it does hold all of the food groups, however the amount of fat and grease counteracts the (heathy) stuff by a lot.

Yep. Your health teacher needs a new job. Just tell her that they might have that stuff (which there isn't very much of it) , but that isn't counting all that sugar, and chemicals, and sodium, and crap in that junk.

Not to mention how UNFRESH there fruits and veggies are.

Or, you could slap her out of her chair with a waffle then tell her to try to get a new job. No, jk XD

Well, the typical burgers, fries and sodas are VERY unhealthy.
But,... McDonalds does have other items on the menu that are not commonly ordered, like milk, coffee, snack wraps, and salads with some fruit.

Technically McDonald's does have all the food categories but I would never say their food is healthy by any means. Organic foods are healthier due to the lack of preservatives and chemicals. The only thing good about McDonald's is if you've been constipated they'll def help ya go.

I agree, when my daughter was a 1 year old in the early eighties I treated Macdonalds like a laxettive. If she was constipated I would break up and feed her half a cheese burger & within a couple of hours she would use her bowels.
