Does anyone remember a late 80's or early 90's movie about a poor family that saves money to get a house but their shack burns down?

there is this mom that has like 4 or 5 kids and she works a low paying job to try an support her kids. They live in a shack and two parts of the movie that I remember is that i think the boy gets a bath tub from a junk yard and they end up getting to take a bath but have to use the same bath water. The other scene is that they try to save money for a house that they try to build so they put as much money in a jar called the " money jar" well some home the shack catches fire and one of the daughters try to get they money jar but the fire ends up being too intense.... can some one PLEASE help me find this movie

"A Home Of Our Own"
Stars Kathy Bates as the mom.

You are most probably talking about the 1993 film titled A Home of Our Own. This story is about a mother and her six kids trying to establish a home in Hankston, Idaho, back in 1962. You can read on about it from www.rottentomatoes.com/m/1046076-home_of_our_own/.

that is one of my most favorite films. so bittersweet.
