You can afford a Mac and get one for the same price as all the other junk out there that will end up not working.

Go to www.apple.com and click on the " store " link.

on the bottom left side of the page you can click on clearance, sale items or get floor models / refurbished items with full factory warranty and you can not tell the difference between them and one from the store.

For hundreds off the regular price with free shipping

It's okay, but you should get a Netbook.

It depends on what kind of vaio you get. over all I think there pretty good. They're fast. You should look for one that has intel I-3 through intel I-9. The greater the (intel i) number the better.

It's nothing compared to the Mac book pro but it is still a good laptop

If you are doing anything Apple, e.g. iTunes, I strongly encourage you to try and get a Mac. If that is really out of range, I have found the Sony Vaio to be an excellent product.

Sonys are really good, if you are old enough you could always try and get it on credit and pay it off.. Just put down what you where going to for the sony.. Then make small payments each month
