What's a good job for someone who is good with languages?

I'm just wondering because I'm fluent in 6 languages and I'm learning my 7th (which is Japanese) on my own and I'm going to start learning French next school year........ :)

Report as

How do you know you're fluent in them?
Have you actually gone to a country that speaks them, and only spoken in that language?

A good career for someone good in languages ... translator, diplomat, spy, missionary

That's true.... I have not been out of the country. But three of the languages I speak at home. Out of the other three, one is sign language and the other two are languages my friends, who are foreign, speak with me...... Basically there's not a word in English that I don't know the word for in the other languages. :)

I would guess a translator. Maybe you could help foreign students who may not speak English, and teach them the language. A teacher of a foreign language is another option.

Is pay involved?
Report as
Yeah.

So, I suppose you are looking for a better job then.
You could try contacting a business that goes through international trade or commutation. Seeing as they will be needing translators on hand.
Report as
If you want to make money, don't just be a teacher. The pay is usually terrible.

Maybe something along the lines of Rosetta Stone. You, evidently, have a method you use to commit words and phrases in other languages, to memory. I don't know if you mentally translate them to or from English, or re- associate these in the new language. Either way, your gift might be instruction.

If you used Rosetta Stone you should let them know and start doing commercials for them. Just for starters. If you didn't use Rosetta Stone, how did you learn all those languages?
