How can a chiropractor help with headaches? What can they do?

I've had a few headaches since this past Sunday which have come and gone. At times I they feel like tension headaches so I can guess that's what they are since my shoulders get tight often, or it could be stress related (personal issues). I've been going to a chiropractor off and on about monthly or bimonthly for a year and also getting massages from certified massage therapists almost monthly (sometimes every other month). At times I feel like I've been going too much, but that's might just be my own personal feeling too. I did a little research on this question tonight, but wanted to ask it anyway. Thanks in advance for your answers.

Without your brain, nothing works. Your spinal cord transfers all signals to your whole body. Obviously if you break that connection you are paralyzed (things don't work). If a nerve is pinched, you feel it only because the signals travelled to the brain. If your neck/spinal column is out in the slightest bit, nerves are likely pinched, referring pain to the brain through the spinal cord. Chiropractic adjustment actually cures the cause of these symptoms while drugs merely mask the symptoms.

Thanks. I think I'm going to call my chiropractor in the morning. I don't really want to bother him that much & my schedule is sort of crazy right now (work tip 7 or 8 three nights a week with the other nights busy at times & start at 8 where his hours are

Use him/her when you need it. That's what chiropractors are in business for.

The body is interconnected, so relieving stress in areas can help with your head.

Headaches, including migraines do help some people by chiropractic. I happen to work with people who have sleep disorders...sleep apnea.... and they get relief of their headaches after being treated for it. (using cpap at night to sleep) Everyone is different in what is causing the headaches.

Some nights I sleep well and don't want to get out of bed in the mornings, or other mornings I want to stay asleep since I felt like I just feel asleep but I know I didn't. :)

Your nerves (which affect the head) run through your spinal cord. Every major organ in your body is connected by these nerves. If your spine is out of alignment it puts pressure on these nerves. If its really bad, it can effect the health of the organ and result in diminished efficacy.
