What is difference between horizontal to each other and parallel ?

i am so confused with this 2 words always

Horizontal runs along the horizon, so from left to right.

Parallel just means they are running by each other, could be horizontal or vertical.

Horizontal = like the horizon. Flat across.
Vertical = straight up&down
Parallel = side by side.

Horizontal runs left to right like the "horizon" when you look out at a body of water such as the ocean. Parallel means side-by-side. Items are "parallel" to one another. Horizontal to each other is incorrect, it's one line.
