An obvious conclusion: a form of de-stressing/ re-organization or defragmentation of files utilized during what you Humans would consider "awake". Spock out.

We are thinking about a lot of stuff when we go to bed, and while we are thinking about that stuff, we are asleep and then just start to animate your thoughts.
