Can you smile for passport photos?
i'am having a passport photo soon and it would be really good to know if you can smile.
There is a reason why you aren't allowed.It's so the cameras can focus on your facial characteristics without any problem.It's a security database thing.

If you do then you must smile all the time or people won't know it's you. On the other hand....if you frown, you'll have to do that all the time as well. So...the choice is up to you.
No. Because a lot of countries don't allow it. So if you go to a country and they dont allow it, it'll be a hell of a job to get it. I just got my new passport, and i had the same question. Just to be on the safe side, don't smile.
