When you look at a decimal how can you tell if it repeats or terminates?

Please show me an example too, Im having a hard time trying to get my head around math, ect... today!

A repeating decimal will have a pattern to it. Ex: .1212121212121...
A terminating decimal has an end such as 1/5 which is .2. It has an end.
A non terminating, non repeating decimal will not end and does not have a distinct pattern. Pi is a non terminating non repeating decimal= 3.1415926535.... See? No pattern and it does not stop.
Repeating decimals usually have short patterns, like .123. It will not be a twenty digit long pattern.

6.3333333, when the last few numbers r the same it is a repeating decimal. When it is 6.13452376587 and it keeps going on and on then it is a terminating decimal. The difference is that the terminating decimal's numbers are different and does not have a pattern to it, unlike the repeating decimal (6.333333333)

If they don't put a line over it then that decimal number actually ends where it ends. Otherwise how do u tell the difference btw 2.353535 repeating and just 2.353535?

If you mean by how they look when written:
1) 0.3 is terminating. It = 3/10
2) 0.333... is repeating. It = 1/3. Another
way to write 0.333... is:

0.3 It is repeating. It also = 1/3.
0.1666... is repeating. Just the 6's
repeat. It = 1/6.
