My cousin plans to become a P.E. teacher and is doing B-Tec he picked to do single award science, I think he needs double award and would like to advise him before its too late

Whatever career you aspire to it's always better to choose double award (or, if you have the option, triple award) science. Single award science isn't very highly thought of and may limit your cousin's opportunities as he'll likely have to study sports science (or something similar) when training to be a PE teacher.

He should only do single award science if he really struggles with science and would fail a more challenging course.

You do not need a double award to become a GCSE PE teacher. You can take a Short Course first and still get employed as a PE teacher. You should talk to a career adviser for more details.'
