Why do I cry when I'm angry?

I cry when I'm sad too, but when I get just a little offended, or upset my eyes start to water. It kind of gets on my nerves, because I feel like it makes me look crazy. My family will purposely make me angry just to see me tear up because they think its funny. Why am I so sensitive?

You get extremely emotional about things I remember times I did that too. like cry when I'm angry, TOO angry in fact. That's a bit offensive on your family's part. But they must be just playing around with you if they're "intentionally" making you cry. Try and don't take it too seriously and stuff. That's not nice, but doesn't mean you have to get carried away too much. Chill and have a cookie. :)

It is a good thing to be a person with feelings ! And not to be like many others who don't care about anything or anyone with a solid heart and tough feelings..
The problem is that not all the people appreciate such thing or appreciate some one with such sensitive feelings..as you.

Great answer. Too many people seem too "unfeeling", and I think we need more people with feelings and sensitivity!

Because you get frustrated and don't take crap from no one you gotta learn how to stand up to them. Crying isn't gonna solve nothing you have to be strong

Because anger is a secondary emotion. We are generally hurt, not angry, but that hurt often manifests itself into anger. I think we do this as a protection/coping mechanism, because anger is easier than pain. I've been fuming mad before, and upon expressing that anger to someone and how they made me feel, I found myself crying. I wasn't initially angry, anger just came after the initial hurt from the offense. You're not alone: I think we all cry when we're angry sometimes. Crying is also a way to release emotions that are too heavy. And I'm so sorry your family does that to you! Sometimes I find that it's healthier to stay away from people such as that, even if it's family. I'll visit a friend, find fun activities in my room, and spend time out in nature, or time doing hw. People that are deliberately cruel to upset others, are toxic. It's normal to be sensitive to that: our family is suppose to be our strongest source of love and protection, they're close to us, we're with them all the time. when they are cruel, it's confusing and hurtful. But like punk said, sometimes people tease and play around, without realizing they're being hurtful.

Maybe its the fact your a loving person and you handle anger threw crying then arguing and yelling and going nuts over situations maybe you have another way of handling things to avoid conflict and from things escalating into a bad situation or a worse one and i feel sooner or later you will fine ways to control your emotions and find other ways to handle the hurt of others or your pain

This all has to do with emotions, your imume system cracks when you are angry and you might start crying, this is where the term emo comes from
