Alcohol can stay in the urine for up to 48 hours. In order to fully eradicate the alcohol, you must cleanse your system. This includes drinking plenty of water and fluids, in order to flush the alcohol out of your system when urinating. You can also take a brisk walk or exercise to generate sweat and perspiration. This too will safely remove the alcohol from your system within 48 hours.
It doesn't get excreted in the urine as alcohol. Your liver breaks it down and you will still see some in circulation for hours.....depending on how well your liver functions and how much alcohol you drank. That's why you see so many alcoholics with liver disease.
