The younger generation has a sense of entitlement that the older generation never really had, a lot of them have an expectation of having things given to them, the older generation is accustomed to going out and working to get the things that they want, nobody ever gave them anything, I think the younger generation is more manipulative than their predecessors...

I think the younger generation has gotten lazier. They let technology do all their work for them and have not been taught how to reason for themselves. I find it sad and a bit scary.

Yes, I do believe it has. Youth today relies on technology. Phones seem to be essential, TVs are addicting, heck, I'm on the computer right now! We look at the technology from before we were born and think, "Dinosaur age!" It's sad, really. We're all SO addicted, and we can't seem to live without technology. If we were to go back in time, we'd probably have a freak attack and not know how to survive. I could probably make it, as I usually ignore my phone, didn't use a computer until I was 8, and rarely watch TV. My parents have also been kind enough to teach me how to survive without technology, like hand-washing clothes and dishes, making food with a fire, distracting myself without technology, and other such things. The thing is, most people haven't learned the essentials of life without technology (from any age). Basically, everyone would have a freak attack, run around robbing people, go on a killing spree, set fire to the rain, you get the point. Technology has become the basis for survival.

Smarter, most people I know blame the parenting for any of the dumb kids, those are adults, but this answer is coming from a fourteen year old. But yes we have gotten way lazier.

I'm gonna quote English entertainer Max Bygraves on this one.

A survey was taken of English teens who were asked, "Do you think that modern teenagers are undereducated?" Eight percent thought they were, seven percent thought they were not, and 85% said, "Like, what's undereducated mean?"

Seriously? Kids are great. Some have always done better than others and it will continue that way. Education is different these days, not worse, and there are still plenty of smart kids around who are soaking it up.

Doesn't every generation go through this? I remember as a teen thinking my grandmother didn't get anything.....now I find myslef thinking the same thing about teens now that she thought about us

I can't recall the quote, Yosey, but Isaiah said much the same about young people and he was writing about 600 BCE. Nothing's changed much in all that time.

Yes younger generation is smart through technology. Kids are smart nowadays But it's impact is harmful 50% because of positive usage is less than negative like mobile usage internet etc

Oh my goodness someone just asked that. I am 11 college reading level, straight A's, AND I'm a girl. ( don't know if gender is important but oh well ) I plan on being first female/Hispanic president. Thanks to technology, I think I am a bit more intelligent.
SO HATO ALL YOU OLD PEOPLE!

Nope a simple question was recently asked to a group of HS seniors was to name the counties north and south of a specific country on a map. The country was the USA, Canada north, Mexico south, Fully a third could NOT. And a 3rd could not name the VP of the USA, but that may not be so bad actually!
