The only thing you have to lose is time. Sometimes I wonder what draws people to this sort of dating per say, when you could easily find a warm body in your own country, some one you can see or touch, but if it works for you I'm happy for you and I wish you luck.

Seems pretty pointless to me, if she's half way around the world then she's not really you're girlfriend. that's called a "pen pal". Internet dating is an oxymoron already but *international* internet dating is beyond pointless, it's a recipe for heartbreak.
I think you should get to know the person more online and then have a group date or a group gathering the first time u meet her and if this is something u feel is worth continuing or being in then why not try with that person theres alot people can do long distance to keep a relationship together and honestly if u arent looking for a serious relationship then let it go but if you are you half to put in work both of u guys communicate more find times you can schedule traveling dates to see each other its the same thing as being married if u cant be there for that person throughout everything or distance then you have no relationship nor trust nothing
those sort of relationships can turn into something so much more. there was a story of a an online couple who lived on opposite ends of the earth and eventually the met somewher in between and theyve been together ever since
You have nothing to lose by giving it a try; as long as you do meet up at some point in the not too distant future to actually see if there is a connection beyond the friendship you may build over distance.
Just be safe. We are always hearing horror stories about abductions. Seems its in the news all the darn time. If you're happy with the situation and hope to meet in the future I wish you all the best. Just take care:-)
