Report as

If you mean Greatest Common Factor 40 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 5
50 = 2 x 5 x 5
Take all factors common to both factorizations. They are 2 & 5.
GCF = 2 x 5 = 10. ANSWER
-----
If you mean Least Common Denominator
40 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 5
50 = 2 x 5 x 5

Hi Claire, are you watching P.R. Tonight? I just noticed at the end of last week's show that Benjamin has a floral "blouse" under his blazer as he is saying Goodbye...hmmm, I hope he doesn't start a trend!!! Did you ever watch real housewives Atlanta ? There's a couple of make hairdressers on there that wear stiletto's and carry handbags in the crook of their arms ( with man jeans and button down shirts . (Oh no they di-int!!). We'll talk later , bye! Is Petey already in bed?

That should be MALE, not make!

I recorded PR and am about to watch it. Ha! Ha! about Benjamin and the floral blouse under the jacket. Some of those designers wear pitiful clothes. I'm always going "what WERE they thinking?" I think their own clothing should be part of the criteria for judging them. Remember that "older" (I say older but she's younger than me,) lady that was on at the first? Her outfits were AWFUL. I would hire a stylist if I went on PR. I'm not saying I have great style but...I'm just saying.
Has Petey gone to bed? Petey has always gone to bed. Right now he is serving as the armrest for my left arm, as he snoozes.
Love you!!!! Claire

Hi Claire! I fell asleep while watching tonite, and tomorrow is another day :). That trip for groceries and a not-so-quick stop at the mall wore me out! (Oh how I dislike getting old-ish :). I have a new free App that Im getting to like,and I want u to check it out for me please it's called Snapguide, do you have it yet? Well, it is somewhat like Pinterest with instructionals on random stuff. I found a crock pot tater tot recipe using cr. Chik soup and cornflakes ! I think I've told you before I have 3 tater tot casserole recipes memorized, because I make them once a month at least! When you add soup to them, they become crunchy and creamy at the same time! Anyway you follow people too. Would you look and see if you like it? I'm starting to "not love" the Religious catagory here on Ask,perhaps I'll get over it, but they lump Philosophy in with the Spiritual and those guys come in the comments, and say really unGodly things sometimes . I think I've noticed you don't go there much, is that correct? I'm going to go find you and direct you back here, maybe I'll do the polls or try another catagory...I really want to tell you about my new jacket and my shopping trip for shoes and a purse, but I'll wait till next time:). Love you Claire

No, I'll tell you now because it's fun and I know you like clothes :). Well, I subscribe to Lucky Magazine, and all winter long, they've been showing how versatile these Lightweight Anorak jackets are. They have adjustable drawstring waists (to provide a little shape) exposed zippers ,with hoods rolled up in the collar, and the sleeves can be rolled up or down, Claire, it's like a feminine (sp?) lightweight army type jacket , okay? It looks military-ish, also utilitarian, and sporty depending On what youre going For! They show them over casual dresses, over striped shirts and skinny jeans, to work with blouse slacks, or pencil skirt, accessorized with scarves, and cross body bags, and with heels, or with flats...you get the picture? Highly versatile! Well, I found one at Macy's, just Style & co. (Store brand, only \$36 with tax, on sale from \$69 of course)but mine is darkish blue with gold zippers and buttons, , (because I'm 50-ish and it has to be a little dressier than what a young girl would wear) and because it's blue, it's got a nautical look too! So, I bought a coral and white striped T-shirt (a good one, Michael Kors on clearance \$26) and t always wear dark skinny jeans (because I have boy hips and a belly :), and flats. This look cries out for one of those cross body bags and it needs to have gold hardware, or same color hardware so it won't clash. The ones I saw were too expensive, where's Ross when you need them !!!! And I think I HAVE to have dark blue flats. Claire this jacket is one of those things that can be worn endless ways and I'm so excited about it ! Can you tell? I wish you could go shopping with me, I will wear this jacket now, spring, maybe summer, fall...will you log onto Macy's.com and get you one? It comes in several colors, but They only had red left at the store. Whew! I'm glad I have you to tell my joyous shopping news, John has no interest at all! Thanks for listening sweet girl!

Beth, Two my favorite topics: God and clothes. I don't answer on the Religion category unless something really strikes a chord deep within. And if people are saying nasty things about God I try to ignore it. I have saved many answers and comments that I Iike. I can take a picture of what's on my screen and save it on my Picture album. It seems like many of my questions get answered even though I haven't asked them. You and many of the others that love Jesus say just the right things so often. You all really help me. I will check out the site you have recommended.

Hi Claire! I'm starting to see why you stay off that category. Ido love to search out the answers in the Scriptures! Suzie asked a question looking for names of other websites where Christians answer w/o so much Moderators. James answered w/ one that I'm going to look today and tell you the name later. Changing subjects, I had this idea that I could buy coral flats too. And maybe a coral w/gold hardware!!!! Oh this is getting fun! I've been wearing black and white all Winter, (I have a very large collection of black cardigans of asst. lengths and styles and Since I'm here in the in Mid-West, where girls and women all wear Ugg- type boots everywhere , probably where you live too, you too? Boots everywhere in the Winter? Also, I see a lot of those Sperry Topsiders in colors and sequins and such, I once had a pair back in '77 , I think :). Okay, your turn! Love as always!

On to fashion!
I have an anorak that's red with blue and white trim. I got it at The Gap several years ago. It looks brand new since it is made out of some artificial material that probably never biodegrades. You have inspired me to wear it again. Maybe with my denim
Bermuda shorts and ?what shoes?
What about my Uggs? Wow, I'd be edgy and hip, but would I be fashion backwards or forwards?!!?
I wear Uggs but only with my denim skirt, my chambray skirt, or my black and white checked flannel dress. Also with black leggings and this denim dress I have. I don't like them with jeans or pants.
Your ideas about your anorak sound delightful. I fully approve. I like Michael Kors's designs. While watching part of The Rachael Zoe Project I saw one of his collections.
(She was at his show.) I really liked it.
I didn't like her collection though.
Those Real Housewives shows make me crazy. I have watched a lot of the old New York ones and the Washington D.C. ones however.

Oh you are so adorable, you and your skirts and dresses! That's a neat thing to know Claire! I have recently seen a photo of Rachael Zoe with bangs and straight hair, and she looked great. Her kid is named Skylar (Love it!). And I hope their marriage lasts forever! I was disappointed to see that NY Housewife, Bethenny Frankle and her wonderful husband breaking up. I was always worried that she was too much for him :(. Did you get over to Snapguide yet ? bugging you? Do this find search: search iPhone and all these cool insider iPhone tricks come up, please go see, when they come up push on the heart at the top and they save under favorites, the website( or App) is irresistible, I was on it for an hour today!! Today, I went back to Macy's to pay my bill and Claire guess what? I bought an adorable pair of Coral flats!! Theyer suede and have a gold zipper trim on the back heel seams and tiny gold studs, so cute! My jacket has gold zippers!!! I was thanking and praising God silently because the Holy Spirit goes shopping with me and helps me (no, it's really true!) There was a sale and I had a coupon \$24.05 with tax! You better go tomorrow and get you some! Theyer Material Girl (Juniors oh well, who cares when your buying trends that come and go) and the toe is a little oblong slightly pointy. One last thing switching subjects :) On PR Heidi would bust us too, about how long it's been since we were cool! Tomorrow well talk about you white anorak jacket, I love the Gap! Hi Claire, so glad that you agree, the thing with me is I have to make sure that the Holy Spirit leads me, and not me leading the Holy Spirit :) as in, 'C'mon Holy Spirit, lets go shopping!!!!' Remember the famous words of Wilma Flintstone..."Charge it!" ? Well, I used to be like Wilma, but now Im on a cash only basis :). Don't worry, God's still fixing me, but He does make a way for a little shopping trip now and then :). I want to tell you about a fashion "strategy game" I've been playing for about 5 years. And i think that you will find it interesting, but it takes a min to explain. Claire, Since my mother is now with Jesus, I must make my own Birthday fun, it's okay tho because I always get some nice presents :). (My mom was the best gift giver on the planet! She always picked just the right thing!). So, I'm July 5th, and I think you are also July, right? 7752? I'll be back...

But before I go there, I'd like to discuss your red (blue,white) anorak. Please do take my advice and get a couple of striped tops or lightweight sweaters, in a couple of different colors to wear under your open anorak. A clearance tank top would keep you cool under your jacket. And Even if you do not care for horizontal stripes, really only the front "panal" will be showing. Skinny stripes, and wide stripes, this item needs to be in your closet!!! And I think that they will go w/your denim skirt, and your leggings and all of that you already have. Red strip, Obviously Black stripe, and any Blue toned stripe, med and light blue might be gorgeous on you! And it needs to fit well, not baggy, the well fitting tshirt will make anybody look skinnier because it "hints" at curves underneath your jacket's flowiness (the eye is fooled:)and perhaps since you like leggings, what about some dark blue or denim ones too? Then yes, UGG boots! And I think new blue and/or red flats are in order. Feminine sneakers, like Keds or sporty ones like Sketchers with jacket and leggings or jeans=sporty, w/flats or heels=casual chic, w/denim skirt and flats or heels=feminine ladylike. All that from a couple of tshirts and maybe some new denim leggings!!! What's next? :). Be back after breakfast, bye!

Oh and you need one or two print tops with the red and blue in it. To go with the jacket and the denim skirt, and one black and white and red print top for jacket and black leggings. Maybe a black skirt and black tights! All these pieces we're talking about here are interchangeable using red, black, blue, white color pallet. It's like I was telling you earlier, where I have been wearing a black cardigan, black and white, or black top, and dark jeans and black leggings everyday all winter since I got here!! The 2 printed tops I bought in Atlanta before I left. One is sheer ish blouse material Black w/white stars (!love it so much!!!) and a long,tie bow, sleeveless because sweater, hot flashes...and the other is a gorgeous medium sized houndstooth print sleeveless, sweater, hot, w/just a draped v-neckline, (W/my short neck, I don't do collars! :) that one was Vince Camuto, only one in my size, \$69 had to pay full price, oh well :) it's sporty, or dressy, and makes me happy because I have a thing for the houndstooth :). Maybe you could find a houndstooth for your jacket...oh what fun!!! Bye! Be back

Claire, do you remember that old TV show called "The Look for Less"? It was where Elizabeth Hasselbeck would host, and she would show 2 photos /runway looks, and the contestant would have 1 hour at the mall to shop for a similar look? Well, I tried that one year for my birthday. John gave me \$100.00. And I had torn a pic from Lucky Mag from an article describing the way French women dress. I have a scrapbook of these pics, so I can still describe the outfit. Black pin stripe pants, gold chain belt, creme colored sheer-ish, flowey, short sleeved, rufflefront blouse, with black peep toe high heel maryjanes. Accessorized with a gold chain one charm bracelet on one wrist, and punk-y black leather with studs bracelet on the other. It took me like a week to buy the pieces, fortunately, my b-day is on a holiday weekend, and there are plenty of sales. Okay, the only diff. was I bought a sheer ish black swiss dot print blouse, short sleeve, lots of pin tucking, little pearl buttons, same feel, but no ruffles!!!(I'm big on to, ruffles ADD volume, not a good look for me!). I loved that blouse so much I went back and bought a white one w/black dots too!!! (The shoes had to wait , but I did buy some later when the Fall stuff came out). And the bracelets? brought about a new discovered love for Betsey Johnson costume jewelry!!! One gold chain bracelet with one big pearl "charm", and a black enameled 1" wide bangle with pearl studs, purposefully designed to look classic and pinkish at the same time! I wore this outfit to church at least once a month, and always felt very put together! More soon...
Report as
And all those new pieces were stand alone classics in their own right, so I was unwittingly buying things that could be worn with other things! And this was a new thing for me, because I had always just picked stuff out w/o very much thought at all. And if you had seen my closet back then, you would have seen a bunch of random stuff, and thought 'who is this girl w/ all this randomly selected stuff??'...
Report as
And so it began! Lucky Mag began to spotlight a different stlyle every month, so when" French girl" came around again, it showed Trench coats, and those little Channel type jackets from the suits that old wealthy matrons wear, only Lucky paired them with pulled-together jeans looks. These are those short waisted,collarless, tweedy jackets that Jackie Kennedy would wear, but modernized a bit with jeans now, and this look is still my all time fav!! Of course, my tweed jackets come from TJ Maxx, but you wouldn't know it just by looking! Now almost every designer has at least one in their collection. I have a couple,but my fav is black, white, with yellow and brown tweed . Goes with some new but faded black jeans, black pants, black skirt, all that ....the original designer was Channel, and she has become my all time favorite!!! Did you know that it was she who first put a women in a man's trench coat? And she started the whole nautical look, by downsizing French sailor uniforms? And that we owe her homage for putt ladies in---wait for it...striped shirts!!! Borrowed from sailors!!! AND I always loved those black quilted purses with the chain straps, that's her again!! So , my style became what is known as "French chic". Yes, I have two trench coats, 1 longish nice khaki one for dresses, and one short black one for slacks and jeans!!! Pinstriped pants for ladies, Channel...chain belts, Channel, it's all about Channel, honey!
Report as
So the next birthday I took the photo of the French girl wearing the faded black flair jeans and the creme colored plain front wide- strapped top under the black and white w/ "curly"fancy trimmed out to the max, tweedy ,short, boxy Channel jacket, accessorized with cool metallic silver belt, black, Gladiator- cage -type heels, and a few different lengths of gold chain and pearl necklaces piled up under the open jacket, that's another Channel thing :). And I found all these things, no not the belt, I have Yet to buy a silver metallic belt, but I have it mentally memorized, and if I ever see one, I'll pick it up then! See how the strategy is staring to make sense? And now I have 2looks that can be interchanged, the pinstripe pants switched with the faded black flair jeans? The sheer blouse under the jacket ( a little "flashy" but some girls can pull it off :) and the gold and pearl thing really is complementary to my coloring! I never liked pearls before, but now mixed w/gold I love, AND, it's French-y! I took those Lucky mags articles to heart, and committed myself to the new look. I found more sheer ish type short sleeves blouses, in black s, whites, cremes (classic French girl), and I wore them with those pants and those jeans, threw in a flattering black pencil skirt, fishnet hose w/those peeptoe black patent high heel Maryjanes (oh yes I did!)...

I started hunting for suitable Betsey Johnson on clearance , I say suitable because Im looking for the classic pieces, not the elaborate, cupcake earrings. or I saw this one ballerina-themed charm bracelet, in 3 different different shades of violet (sigh) ,it reminded me of those ballerina jewelry boxes from back in the day ...but I regress, so it became a new game for me, search out Betsey Johnson French-y chic costume jewelry. I would find these wonderful jewelry pieces on clearance here and there, and started putting them on my Christmas lists, and managed a small cohesive collection of decent, classic Frenchy type things. I once duplicated a look from a Macy's catalog Short puffy sleeve black and white blouse, black pencil skirt, black shoes much like those maryjanes that women dance in on Dancing w/The Stars. And Betsey Johnson CZ stud earrings w/a dangling big pearl. THAT MTCHED PERFECTLY the pearl on the first gold chain single charm bracelet I had bought at the first!! Claire, see how my consistency with the look paid off by coming around full -circle-ish in that particular case? And to wrap this part up, I'll tell you that I organized my top drawer in dresser to "display" the pieces in an artful way that just gave me joy every time I opened that drawer! ( it's all packed up at the min.) But I sure did enjoy talking about this new concept of purposefully shopping, hope you're enjoying all this yakking. I'm coming back with just a little more, see ya soon, bye!

And Claire, when I put that pencil skirt look together (very sexy secretary), i loved it so much that I've left instructions to be buried in that outfit, complete with Betsey Johnson big pearl dangle earrings, and matching charm bracelet :) what can I say? I'm Confident in The Lord, and I want to be fabulous in the casket :). No fishnets tho...A few years ago, Lucky published a book about recreating my French chic look, and several others looks. Of course, I bought that book, and in my chapter, they spelled out every last piece of clothing and accessories that one would need to compilate the look. In my case, I already had a few of the listed pieces, and I've mentally memorized these items, and stick to the guidelines, I've added navy and a color here and there, the coral items we've already talked about...I'd just love to find a smallish, cheap, quilted Channel-style coral purse with long gold chain, to wear with all my new new stuff, the long chain would help me wear it cross body, and other ways too. I'm going to go find the book, so we can discuss the other styles. Bye Love!

Hi Claire, you may appreciate that I can remember when Seventeen magazine used to be a big Life magazine sized pages (remember that?). And of I guess around 1973, Betsey Johnson had a full page ad in one issue, which I'm sure was a huge deal back then! She just had one NY Boutique, but she was already into Whimsy. Wouldn't you say that describes her and her designs perfectly? Whimsical! Claire did you read Seventeen? Remember Twiggy, Lulu and Mary Quant? Cybil Shepherd, and Cheryl Teigs?

And Claire, I think that book is in the storage, but I can remember a little. The book helps women decide by offering examples of Women Style Icons, so the French chic ladies were Catherine Deneuve, Bianca Jagger, Marissa Berenson...see how this works? Farrah Fawcett/Goldie Hawn California Casual (peasant tops is all I can think of...), Katherine Hepburn/Lauren Hutton American Classic (blazers, khakis, cords, denim), Audrey Hepburn would be Gamine, artsy Mod, Bohemian Janis Joplin...I think I've given enough examples for your understanding. Here's some homework for you Claire, please give these things some thought, and come back with a style icon, or a designer, or a particular line of clothing that you have or always wanted to have ( like me...the boxy,Channel jackets, and the quilted chain purses), and lets explore this a little more. We can zero in on a couple of pieces and you memorize them for when you're out shopping, I'm telling you...our Lord will provide!!! I have a couple more shopping stories that will prove my point. PS. I know this stuff is superficial Claire, I should probably be pouring this energy into cancer research, or digging wells in poor villages , it's not all about this stuff I hope you know, we are just yakking about frivolous diversions that add some fun to life, that's all...bye friend!

Hi Claire! Those little things about the Seventeen mags make me feel all warm and fuzzy :). Just because that's one of the things that my mom and I had in common, and I have many wonderful memories that I can remember just what she and I both were wearing, or when and where we bought the clothes that we were wearing :].( I'm a freak right? ). And just to go and continue with the whole shopping thing , another really girly thing about me is that I really love paper dolls, then I liked tearing out photos in newspapers and magazines and so I started a bulletin board at first, to memorize what to shop for. The pics eventually outgrew the board so I got a photo album, the first two pages were the two French girls outfits that I had already duplicated. I had pages of boxy jackets, beautiful Channel bags and costume jewelry, my favorite pair of Manolo Blaniks shoes just in case I ever got to buy any :). (Burgundy T-strap High Heeled Maryjanes w/ gold harness hardware :). The book said a French girl always has a pair of black peeptoe platform heels in her closet. So I found a picture of some black suede ones. I looked at that pic, all the time, God saw me look at that picture day after day...and one day, at Marshall's right by the house, in the clearance-WaLa! Black Suede Stewart Weitzman anklestraps with a patent leather platform and skinny heel!!!! For \$19.99!!!!!
Report as
They weren't exactly like the picture' but Claire do you know? That the shape of the shoe and heel platform size and style were almost identical! And I know in my heart that was a blessed event. Like a little breadcrumb to encourage my faith that God was just "right there". With me, so up close and personal! And He cared about the least little things that I cared about...it really was a cool thing and I told everybody that would listen, how God was showing me love with my little book of clothes, and I'm glad I went thru that time too. The book is packed up, and I haven't looked at it or added to it in quite a while, because my priorities have changed for the moment, there's probably a bunch more stories to tell but I have to dig it out first. 100 years ago when they built this house, they forgot to put in closets . Well, it's because they used chests of drawers and wardrobes, but I need a closet!

That is so neat about your shopping and the scrapbook. When I was 11
I started a Beatles' scrapbook. I collected tons of newspaper and magazine clippings. I had ticket stubs and my Beatles' Fan Club membership card etc. I still have it.
I'm giving it to an 18 year old boy at church that loves the Beatles. He and his father went to see Paul McCartney and Wings twice. I think Jesus gave me some help finding him as a recipient.
