In to kill a mocking bird how does Atticus show tom is not guilty

Report as

Atticus produces various pieces of evidence to prove Tom did not commit the crime. However, perhaps the most persuasive evidence brought was in regards to Mayella's bruises. The bruises were on the right side of her face, meaning she must have been punched with a left hand. Tom's left arm is useless due to an old accident, so he couldn't have hit her.
