What is this? This is kinda gross

Playing volleyball, my knee pad slid down when i dove for the ball, and i got one of those nasty burns that you get on a gym floor. I've had a ton before, but this time i must have burned a couple layers of skin too many, because it started bleeding. I put a band aid over it. I took it off today, and there is this little white thing that is sticking out of it. At first I thought it was puss, but it is hard. Its like a very small white bump that is in the middle of the burn... what is it?

well I am assuming maybe a little piece of scar tissue since you said you burn your knee often. :)

It could be a blister or dead skin.

You should just see a doctor, but i'm guessing it's because you said you get them often.

If you landed hard and started to bleed what is sticking out from the site can be anything from scar tissue to cartilage to bone fragments. If you press on it and it does not give and hurts go to the doctor right away. The next time you bang your knee wash it with soap and water and then apply ice for 20 minutes. Apply dressing and bandage.
