Has any1 seen the movie "Anonymous"...? It says in the movie that The Virgin Queen Elizabeth 1 had children out of wedlock with her own son?

is this true history or is Hollywood gone nuts again?

My guess would be, it's false. Do you believe ET existed too? Because I recall a movie that he did exist.

lmaooh! thats funny 4real! idk...? 1 thing 4 sure, Elizabeth 1 was one of the greatest rulers Great Briton ever had. Wouldnt it be safe 2 say that historians would do much 2 keep her virtue in tact? There are alot of back room stories written that have said Elizabeth wasnt a virgin at all. This kind of talk would have been treasonist talk and prob. would have had your head and body seperated! In fact, she was rumored 2 have had a great romance with Sir Walter Raleigh later in her reign. Weather she had children or not is deffinatly a topic 4 dispute. with her own son may be just 2 much of a stretch...? She never knew he was her son in the flick. Was a good film about who William Shakespear may have also really been... idk, look it up. theres tons of info about her everwhere online....

She had no children that I have ever heard of. After her death she was succeeded to the throne by her cousin James of Scotland . Probably just Hollywood fluff to enhance the appeal of the film.

I just got done looking up the true fluff...hollywood sux @ history alot!...its known/writen that as a young woman, Elizabeth was raped and became pregnant. the question now really is, what happened 2 the child? appearently, she didnt know where the child was placed either after interogation and imprisonment...? It also said, contrary 2 belief, she was never called the virgin queen 2 her face...

While I was aware that she had several affairs, was not aware of the pregnancy . To the best of my knowledge she was called"the Virgin Queen" as an attempt to give the Catholic subjects a person to revere after the Unification Act was passed , not due to her being celibate. Thanks for the info!

Huntbill, thanks 4 the great answer! She was also discrete about not getting married and having affairs bc the Chatholic church hoped 2 still mary her with a Catholic Royal and kick the protestens out of England. That marriage was less likely 2 happen if they knew out right that she was sleeping around...
