Not especially. Dogs will chase any small animal they happen to see: squirrels, rabbits, cats, whatever. It's part of their hunting instinct that comes out in them when they see the opportunity. It's not much different than the way cats instinctively go after smaller animals themselves.
As per the online reviews, Dogs don't actually hate cats. However, dogs are said to have descended from wolves, and they have a characteristic called prey drive. This characteristic is thrilled by small animals like cats and squirrels. When dogs spot the small animals, particularly when they run away, their prey drive is thrilled, and they confer to chase them.
MYTH! They dont actually hate each other the dogs just have the wolf instict to chase and/or attack anything small that runs. There is a solution though, but you cant do it after you get the cat and dog, you have to do it with a puppy and kitten as soon as you get them, put them together and the puppy's instincts shouldn't have kicked in = no dog chasing cat. When the dog's instincts do kick in he shouldnt attack the cat because he knows they have been friends for life. P.S. The puppy and kitten cant be too old = attacking dog.
Dogs chase cats because they are natural predators. That is, before their domestication took place about ten thousand years ago, canines were acting upon survival instincts to chase and catch smaller creatures to eat. The survival instincts are also known as the "prey drive." While prey drive can be modified by training, the natural instinct that makes dogs chase cats is still triggered by movement.

imho in the wild, i believe its related to the food chain. dogs>cats therefore cats could be food..then there's the aspect of territory and vying for other food/reproduction amenities . "hate" would really just be a dogs survival instincts kicking in. in a domestic situation i believe it more to be a taught reaction to cats probably for the owners amusement, or pack mentality. just my thoughts.
Cats and Dogs do not hate each over it is just the natural order of life . Dogs and Cats can be aggressive towards each over this is usually either playing or they have gone on each overs territory because cats and dogs are very territorial. So no if they are introduced without any of them crossing there territory it will be fine =)
Dogs can hate anything or anyone that poses a threat to them or annoys them. The same goes for any other animal, but it is a myth, because my dog loves my cat, and my cat loves my dog. They're like best-friends.

I cannot answer this question because I've never asked a dog if it hated cats and if I did, I don't think it would be able to respond verbally or put it in writing (Still I've seen some amazing pet tricks. lol.) It's true that some dogs chase cats. Cats chase mice; however, most cats that I've seen successfully catch a mouse, usually ate the mouse. I've never seen a dog eat a cat. They chase for different reasons.
They love each other!! In most cases anyways. If they're introduced lately, for example a puppy meeting the 6 year old family cat, they aren't really buddy buddy. But I mean, some cats are just so annoying dogs can't not hate em. xD
some dogs do it really depends on their personality< my dog and cat are best friends and they didn't even grow up together we had our dog for 3 years before we got the cat and they play all the time even sharing the same water bowl. Also my mom has 3 dogs 2 of which could careless about cats and the other hates them.
Myth, every dog I have owned has loved being around cats. I have also met many that love being around cats as well. Yes there are dogs out there that don't like cats and cats that don't like dogs but not all of them.
that is actually a myth it depends on the dog. my dog is afraid of cats because when he annoys them (he does that often it is his talent) they hiss at him and he gets scared many dogs love cats and some do hate them.
