Why do children's get grounded by their parents in foreign countries?

Report as

many foreign countries in comparison to the US have seem to have stricter parents because of the different cultures. Their traditions and morals are different than ours in the US and they were just raised in a different fashion. We still have parents who ground their children here in the US. It all depends on the parents' beliefs on how to raise their own children.

Parents are parents, no matter which country they are from. Grounding children is a given parental rite and a torture that we parents are fond of using.

Some people find scolding their child is brutal and barbaric like. So they ground them instead.

It's consequences for something the child did that was not approved of by their parents.

Same reasons as in this country. Children will "test" their bounds no matter when or where. It is a natural growing process.

It is simply the difference of culture. In America, kids are punished by spankings, being grounded, have their possessions taken away (such as phones, iPods, or MP3 players),and such other things.

Every action has a consequence and children no matter what age should relaize that, and it is up to parents to set boundaries.
