None of this matters but the mother. If a woman does not want to be pregnant than she can get rid of it. And don't go on about "only have sex if you want kids" bullcrap. I never want kids and I've been sexually active for years and if I, or anyone, got pregnant, they have choices. You cannot force a woman to have a child.

Not true. Have you ever heard of a baby or even a young child committing suicide? When people commit suicide, it is because of either something they have or something they have not done. Or it is because of something other people have or have not done. People don't just decide they never wanted to live. They decide, because of things that have happened to them, that they don't want to live ANYMORE.

Not true. Have you ever seen a young child commit suicide? People commit suicide because of something that is wrong. Whether it's depression, bullying, loneliness, or even anger, people commit suicide because of something that has or hasn't happened to them. They don't decide they never wanted to live. They decide they don't want to live anymore.

A person first has to have the physical ability to commit suicide, so babies are automatically excluded. A person also has to understand what death is. And then they have to know what things can cause death. Only when all of those are in place can an individual begin to contemplate suicide.

I won't criticize you, just debate you. The problem your statement is that the more abortion is available, the more it will be done. It's one or the other. If you had a choice between abortion being widely available and lots of people having abortions, or no one can have an abortion, so none ever happen, which would you choose?

If abortion is not legally available, it still happens. Women have always done things in the hopes of causing a miscarriage, sometimes with tragic results. And when legal abortion is not available, there are plenty of unscrupulous characters ready to take advantage of a woman in a desperate situation by performing the dreaded "back alley abortion". Brush up on what was going on before Roe v. Wade so that you are better prepared for the debate you started.

First of all, Exodus 20:13 says "You shall not murder." People will say that babies aren't humans, yet. Therefore they aren't murdering someone if they murder a baby. Jeremiah 5:1, however, says “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you." In other words, God counted you as already existing even before you were born. He knew you before you were even conceived. Having an abortion is depriving that baby of the right to live.

The difference between killing and murdering is the motive. When you kill, you are doing it either to promote peace (in a war), or to protect others (a person comes into your house with a gun and threatens to kill your wife and kids), or for a similar, unselfish reason. When you murder, it is out of hate, greed, selfishness, or a similar motive.

God had other options available, didn't he? Being lost in the woods overnight, unsheltered, hungry and scared is a punishment. Being torn limb from limb? Overkill and unnecessary, especially when the death should occur for an unselfish reason, as you said above.

swallex, there are other options. Even if a 30 year old doesn't want a child, if she gets one, it is her responsibility to care for that child. If a 14 year old gets raped, she can put her child up for adoption.

First of all, God will never tell you to do something that goes against His word. He will never tell you to MURDER (not kill) anyone, born or unborn. Second, Mikababy said that her friend isn't a Christian. When non-Christian asks God for something, He looks at them and sees someone who doesn't know Him. So the first thing He deals with is their salvation. Only then will He give them their original request. (See Mark 2:1-4) Also, the request has to be for the right motives for God to say yes (most of the time).

Abortion should absolutely always be an option. There are lots of cases where it is absolutely necessary. People who just think of it as murder show clear narrow mindedness and no understanding for why some people need it. Voting against it simply because of religion is the worst reason I can think of. Actually, it's not even a real reason. Religion should absolutely never interfere with things that actually matter or things that have nothing to do with it.

Religion means absolutely nothing and is worthless and a waste if time to me. Many have shown that they only believe in it because they were indoctrinated into it from birth, need it for emotional comfort, or are just ignorant and in denial of other religions, scientific, and historical fact that contradicts their dogma, and are in denial of the obvious unethical teachings of their "holy book".

That is some very fallacious logic there. Some christians decided to change their lives so that means the entire religion is true. No one actually meets jesus or talks to jesus. Tons of people find ways to better themselves and change their lives for the better without a belief christianity. You are obviously ignoring everyone's else's religion and how they think it's helped them or how letting go of christianity has helped people become happier and live better lives. Every other religion is no less credible than christianity since none of them have any proof that they're correct. And you're also ignoring how many christians there are in prisons and how more secular nations show to be more peaceful very religious ones. You seem to be a young teenager and not well suited for a debate. Someone wanting a good debate wouldn't have used what you said as an argument. I think you should study a bit more if your looking to debate.

Your error was that you said Christianity was a religion. It's not. Those who view Christianity as a religion are those who wind up in jail or aren't peaceful. Those who are Christian in name only have no real faith. They say a prayer to get their "fire insurance" and proceed to living however they want. True Christianity is a relationship with Jesus, through the Holy Spirit. So yes, I have talked to and with Jesus. I have personally experienced a tiny smidgeon of the power of God, which was overwhelming to me. I have had the Holy Spirit speak through me in another language I have never learned. I can't deny my personal experiences.

I'm totally against it. The only exceptions I can see being somewhat acceptable is if you were raped or if your life was in danger. otherwise I say you made the mistake and you need to own up to it!! If you don't want to keep the baby have the decency to put the baby up for adoption so that families that want children and aren't able to can have children. Also everyone deserves to live and nobody should be denied life no matter how old or little they are. I think abortion is the same thing as killing an adult. Even though they aren't born they are still a person!

But they don't. And you know they don't. How many people do you know who have given up a child for adoption? I had a friend who knew she wasn't ready to care for a child so gave it up and her family cut her off completely, even though they were not willing to do anything to help her keep the child.

Let me restate that. I had a pregnant friend who knew she wasn't ready to be a mother. She wanted to give the baby up for adoption. Her family talked her out of that and into keeping the baby. After he was born she wasn't able to handle motherhood and working, and her family (that talked her out of putting the baby up for adoption) wouldn't do anything to help her. So she did give the baby up for adoption when he was 3 months old and her family cut her off completely because they were angry with her for giving the baby up for adoption.
She didn't have an abortion.

Wrong. It should only be used for the cases in which women were raped, because no one should be forced to carry a criminal's child, but other than that...wrong. I'm not saying that women should have no choices, I mean I guess if you don't wanna get pregnant take a condom. But if you're not responsible and just have unprotected sex without thinking, you should be forced to live up to your mistakes.

Well, I think if someone isn't responsible enough to take care of the baby, they shouldn't do it in the first place...There are tons of great parents who can't have babies, and they have to wait, so to throw something so beautiful away is terrible.
