Where in Bakersfield CA can I buy a Chameleon and not have it be like $100?

I want a Chameleon really but they go for $99.99 at Petsmart :( I can't pay that much for the animal if the cage and everything is going to cost a whole bunch. Can I get the actual Lizard somewhere else for a cheaper price?

Chameleons online cost even more -you might not get a better deal anywhere else- So build up the supplies (screen cage, fogger, etc) little by little until you can afford everything, This WILL be time-consuming, but keeping a chameleon will keep you MUCH busier; they're on a 50 of a 1 to 50 scale to take care of, so you'd better be extremely experienced with reptiles if you're gonna get one. Not trying to sound mean, but they really are hard to keep. I can barely care for the one I've got, it's hard to keep humidity up with school and two jobs. I think I'll end up giving her away, though she tries to follow me everywhere (so do all my other little companions, lol) but I want her to be healthy, so I think my uncle is gonna get her.

Chameleons don't live in dry places... They require 95 - 100 percent humidity. Plus, there's not place in the USA that they live, they are from different parts of the world, yes, but not the USA.

Petsmart sells animals on the lower end of breeding quality, so I imagine prices will just go up. HOWEVER you may check out Pet Finder or Craigslist to see if someone is giving/selling their current pet.
