Anorexia Nervosa is what is known as an eating disorder. It's associated with an unrealistic view of one's own body, and a fear of eating. The person sees themselves as fat, when in fact they may be painfully, dangerously thin. It is a life-threatening illness, which needs to be treated with a multifaceted approach. The patient needs psychiatric help, nutritional counseling, and may require treatment in an inpatient facility which specializes in eating disorders. Closely related to Anorexia is Bulimia, which includes the patient's abuse of laxatives and purgatives, and causing themselves to vomit what they eat. Both conditions can cause serious electrolyte imbalances, which can trigger heart attacks, strokes, and death.
Anorexia is a serious mental disorder that is caused by intention to become skinny. It happens when you get a strong desire to lose weight. You will stop eating, or even force yourself to throw up. This disorder will become dangerous.
Anorexia is a serious disorder where you have a fear of becoming skinny. The person, male or female, tends to not eat very often and when he or she does eat, it is just enough to where they can go the day without passing out. It is very serious and eventually will be fatal. My friend has it and it is very complex, especially since I have no idea what is going through it her mind. It can also lead to other problems or can combine with other eating disorders such as Bulimia where a person purges (throws up) what he or she eats.
