How do I fix this HP webcam problem? (Read more in details)

I keep trying to run my webcam and I get an error message when I do:
' This camera is in use by another application.'

Please help, I've tried everything I can think of. D;

Not sure this will work but it may help you identify what is alternately using the camera. Unplug the camera and restart your computer. Once you're all booted up (wait for Windows to boot and any programs that load at start to finish loading completely) type Ctrl+Alt+Del and open Task Manager. Click on Processes sort the order by process name. Maximize the window as to get a view of all running processes.

Plug the camera in and see what processes start (if any). If a process(es) starts running when you plug the camera in (hopefully a process/program associated with a webcam in some fashion) right click and end any of the process(es) that started when the camera was plugged in. Once the process(es) has ended, try running the program that you are intending to run with the webcam. No promises this will fix you, but it's worth a shot...Good luck!

But my camera is built in.
And how can I tell what processes to end?

It would take a bit of Googling. You could Google the processes by name, that should give you a general indication if it is used by the webcam. I know you said you've tried everything, but have you checked that you have the latest updates from HP in regards to all your software?

Urrmm.. it says access denied when I go to HP update.. :c

That's odd...you should call HP's technical support. It sounds like you may have bigger issues. I apologize I couldn't be more help.

why dont you turn it off and try again otherwise your camera is malfunctioning,detatch it.this site is a joke try also a proffessonal

why dont you close all your applications,sometimes i get that on the computer and im the only one in use of any application,when i close the applications it lets me move forward.

You should first test your webcam online, to make sure that it physically works, and that it's not a hardware problem. Go to The Online Mirror and test it there:
