Because these people can't agree on what wasteful spending is. Almost everyone benefits from wasteful spending in some way, and when it comes down to it it's only wasteful if it doesn't benefit you. So what's wasteful to one is necessary to another.
People get addicted to what they think the government should provide and then the politicians will not get rid of these wasteful programs because they don't want to become unpopular! The country needs to learn self responsibility all over again!
Wasteful spending will end when people and corporations are banned from lobbying and buying votes. Obama promised to put an end to it but he, like other presidents, just keeps it going. The Senate always does what their constituents want even when they know it's wasteful. They are always looking ahead to the next election. Governing is all about winning because most of them are lawyers and that's what they were taught in law school. Rand Paul seems to be the only one left who is all about the people. Maybe that's because he's a doctor. I say get rid of the lawyers and start voting for doctors. They care about people.
