You need inspirations.
Come up with words, and join them together.

Get inspired. Read a ton of poetry. Get ideas from poetry and mark what you like. Write about things that interest you. Listen to music when you write. Writing descriptive peices is a great way to start. :o

Think about things that make you happy and giddy
You could write about things that you liked as a kiddy
How the sun shines brightly, makes you squint eyes tightly
When the snow falls in winter and floats to earth so lightly
Poetry flows from deep in the center of your being
And can strike anytime, even when you're peeeeing
Or planted on the throne squeezing out lunch
Ear drums vibrated from potato chip crunch
Start where you begin and begin where you feel
You can even borrow this, just ask, cuz it's not cool to steal.......8)

Think of something personal. Then jot it down in different stanzas, no matter how it sounds. It can be complete crap. After you do that, then you can go back and edit it to add more, make things rhyme, or just overall make it better. It's easier to work with something that's written, no matter how bad it is, than a blank slate.

Find inspiration. For instance, my inspiration to write poetry, is the famous Edgar Allan Poe's work. I read his poems to find ideas on how to write my poems. I imagine myself as being a raven, in a dark graveyard. Isolated from everything, except for death. You can guess from that; that the raven is being isolated from absolutely everything. Except for death, because it's in a graveyard and in a graveyard you'll find tombstones, with the bodies of dead people beneath the ground.

I'm a Creative Writer myself. I write absolutely everything. Poems, lyrics, stories, whatever. When you go to write poems, you have to always use your imagination; as it helps you stay focused on that one thing, and you put yourself in another world, which helps you write the poem that you are willing to write. Also, you can write poems about past experiences or what you are going through. It doesn't matter what genre you use. It doesn't really matter if the poem rhymes. Some of my poems never even rhymed. Some did though. Share your poem with others, and see what they think. There are a lot of sites where you can post these kind of things.

Pick a genre that you love. Don't be afraid of criticism.
