Rewind, defiantly. I could rewind back to the happy moments, or do-over the mistakes, or just rewind back to when I was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and go to a different place. Rewind could work as a pause button I think, because I would just keep going back to the same moment, until I decided it was time to end it.

Pause because if were to choose rewind then I probably wouldn't have learned from my mistakes from the past. And with pause I can just sit back and think some stuff over and then hit play to try my best and stay alive and take the right path instead of the bad path to destruction....
Rewind, pause is not helpful at all unless everything except you is getting paused. If a burglar for example, breaks into my house and kills all I love dearly, then I can rewind a couple hours back to warn my family and get prepared. If a burglar comes in and tries to kill my family, I could pause, move to him, snatch his gun, put him in a bag and throw him in the garbage can(If I was the only one not paused, that is). But pause doesn't solve everything like rewind does, there are some moments that pause can't save you from, for example, if you were chained to the wall and were to be killed, then pause won't do anything, but rewind will rewind you to a point before you were chained to the wall. Point is, rewind can get you out of ANY situation. Pause will only get you out of any situation if you can actually do it without pause AND if everything is paused except you(Like in Dishonored).
I would definitely choose the rewind ability. Like others have said, it could be used as if for pausing as well. Also, the pause ability could only delay what is certain to be. Furthermore, the ability could only be useful if everything ELSE were paused, and if you were able to move and manipulate your surroundings. Unlike the others who answered the same as me, I would not use the rewind ability to change my past,- for it would alter my present(see Back to the Future II)- I would use it to change the future and relive great moments a few times after they happened, like what Mad Marcus and kare_bear said. That's a really good question, but I don't know why so many people said "both" when you clearly said "or", to make us choose.
Pause, because then I could just manually move people back to where they were before, creating the illusion they've gone back in time. Sure they would be like "What the..." but they couldn't prove anything could they?
