What is a horizontal tear of the supraspinatus tendon? What is significant about the tear being horizontal?

Report as

A horizontal tear of the supraspinatus tendon is injury that occurs near the upper part of the scapula. It is characterized by pain, swelling and sometimes spasms. The tear is horizontal because the supraspinatus muscle itself runs almost horizontally out of the fossa.
