A member of a religious denomination founded in the United States during the late 19th century in which active evangelism is practiced, the imminent approach of the millennium is preached, and war and organized governmental authority in matters of conscience are strongly opposed.

Christian denomination that accepts the Bible as the only authority and refuses to actively participate in government or national activities

From Wikipedia ...

Jehovah's Witnesses is a millenialist restorationist Christian denomination with nontrinitarian beliefs distinct from mainstream Christianity. The organization reports worldwide membership of over 7.65 million adherents involved in evangelism, convention attendance of over 12 million, and annual Memorial attendance of over 19.3 million. They are directed by the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses, a group of elders in Brooklyn, New York, that establishes all doctrines. Jehovah's Witnesses' beliefs are based on their interpretations of the Bible and they prefer to use their own translation, the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures. They believe that the destruction of the present world system at Armageddon is imminent, and that the establishment of God's kingdom on earth is the only solution for all problems faced by humankind.

People who believe in Johovah. They do not celebrate any type of holiday or birthdays. They consider society to be morally corrupt and under the influence of Satan, and limit their social interaction with non-Witnesses

Jehovah's Witnesses (officially known as the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society of New York), a religious sect founded in the late 19th century by former atheist Charles Taze Russell, do not believe in the Trinity. They teach that only God the Father is truly God, and they call Him 'Jehovah'. Jesus, they claim, is not divine - He was created by Jehovah and is actually the archangel Michael. Jesus, in their view, is the first and highest of all created beings, and is actually the creator of the world.
Jehovah's Witnesses beliefs about Jesus are contrary to the teaching of the Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and Protestant churches. In other words, no other Christians believe - or have every believed - such radical ideas.
They are very well practiced in explaining what they believe. They are skilled at using selected verses from the Bible - no matter how badly they are misinterpreted - to defend their arguments. The New World Bible, the official translation of the Watchtower Society, purposely mistranslated the original Greek of the New Testament to support Witness theology.

Hope this helps! - ManOfKnowledge

We don't believe Jesus is the Creator of the world. We believe Jehovah is. Check out www.jw.org. It may help clear up what you may have misunderstood. =)

Jehovah is God, Jesus is a little god, holy spirit is an active force, they earn credits to heaven by knocking on your door, they believe they are the 144,000. They don't believe in hell.

By the way, they don't invite you to their church, they have to indoctrinate you first.
Report as
So dose their bible state. Knocking on doors will get a credit balance once in heaven?

I was invited to go to an "easter"Nicene service!
It was a communion service. No one took bread or drink(they felt unworthy)
They do not understand that communion is a time to remember what He did for us! And keep this remembrance til He comes. Scripture says you not take this communion unworthly/ or 1Corinthians 11:27-29
As Christians we always take time to ask forgiveness( knowing that He is faithful and just to forgive-when we
as believers ask). Then we can partake!

My brother and his wife are JW's, this is how I know what I know.
Report as
We do not earn credits by knocking on doors. Please visit www.jw.org
Report as
Sorry, that was probably rude, what I meant was, JW's believe that they earn credit with God for going out to homes and trying to convert.
Report as
We don't go to homes to try to convert people. We just show them the truth. Please visit jw.org to know more

Jehovah's Witnesses are Christians who love Jehovah God and His written words found in the bible. We are foot step followers of Jesus Christ, and share the good news about God's Kingdom. We are preaching in over 235 lands throughout the world, because Jesus commissioned his followers to do so in Matthew 24:14 And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come. And Matthew 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded YOU. And, look! I am with YOU all the days until the conclusion of the system of things. In Matthew 9:37 Jesus said to his disciples: Yes, the harvest is great, but the workers are few. 38 Therefore, beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.

Okay if want to ignore the one who created Jesus then that fine with me. In proverbs 8:22-36 Jesus said that Jehovah is the one who produced him.22 ?Jehovah himself produced me as the beginning of his way, the earliest of his achievements of long ago. 23 From time indefinite I was installed, from the start, from times earlier than the earth. 24 When there were no watery deeps I was brought forth as with labor pains, when there were no springs heavily charged with water. 25 Before the mountains themselves had been settled down, ahead of the hills, I was brought forth as with labor pains, 26 when as yet he had not made the earth and the open spaces and the first part of the dust masses of the productive land. 27 When he prepared the heavens I was there; when he decreed a circle upon the face of the watery deep, 28 when he made firm the cloud masses above, when he caused the fountains of the watery deep to be strong, 29 when he set for the sea his decree that the waters themselves should not pass beyond his order, when he decreed the foundations of the earth, 30 then I came to be beside him as a master worker, and I came to be the one he was specially fond of day by day, I being glad before him all the time, 31 being glad at the productive land of his earth, and the things I was fond of were with the sons of men.

32 ?And now, O sons, listen to me; yes, happy are the ones that keep my very ways. 33 Listen to discipline and become wise, and do not show any neglect. 34 Happy is the man that is listening to me by keeping awake at my doors day by day, by watching at the posts of my entrances. 35 For the one finding me will certainly find life, and gets goodwill from Jehovah. 36 But the one missing me is doing violence to his soul; all those intensely hating me are the ones that do love death.?

Naskey: they do not believe the Jesus of the New Testament.
If they deny the Real Jesus---
then they are not Christians. Jesus said: i and rhe Father are One.
Christians DO believe Jesus as the
Emmanuel(God WITH us).God in human flesh!
when you are looking for what they believe in---- look for a comparison of them beside other religions vs. Christianity(people who follow Christs teachings and way to live!)

russianrespect: As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, I know that the only way to know the TRUTH about us is to visit our official website, as mentioned, jw.org. All that is stated there is FACT and not OPINION. Quick story; I had a classmate who googled himself. And he found his story on Wikipedia. It said he had died in 2000. Which is absolutely false. Because he is still alive today. Just to show that Wikipedia and websites like that don't always show accurate information. www.jw.org is the source from where you can find all accurate info about JWs. Hope I helped!
