Where ask.com earn money from?

they maintain a huge database and making it available on web is a huge expenditure...I even dont see advertisement sponsored here

Mostly from the stock market and some from adds

Yes, the shares used to be called ASKJ until ask Jeeves was bought out by IAC for almost 2 billion dollars.
Now you buy IAC shares (IAC ownes over 50 media companies including Newsweek.)
