2 dimes and 10 pennies, 1 quarter and 5 pennies. but if you mean only using 2 coins total, then it's not possible without a Nickel

2 coins, count 'em: 2. 2 dimes adds up to 20 cents, not 30.

This riddle makes absolutely no Sense!

It does if you think about it. Two coins one is not a nickel so that means it's a quarter but I never said the other one is not a nickel. Therefore it is a nickel.

If there is no nickel, there can't be 2 coins adding up to 30 cents.
The US currency in coins:
1 cent = penny
5 cents = nickel (which you have excluded)
10 cents = dime
25 cents = quarter
50 cents = half-dollar
$1 = dollar coin.

Judgmental people, I can see you are the ones who want to appear better than others. I'm not sorry for my answer, I am just sorry that you feel so insecure about yourself.

Oh, and it said "but one of them is not a nickel" not "one is not a nickel" which means there IS no nickel.
