What does it mean when a guy you are interested in calls you "kid"?
I have a really great guy friend here at college who I met last semester. We are both second semester freshman. He thinks he is really old (he turned 20 in January) and I am 18 (will be 19 in May). He has a habit of calling girls that he views as sisters and that are younger than him kid. Well we've been messing with each other (almost flirting) over text message we hang out occasionally and my friends think he might like me but they aren't sure. This morning we were texting and he said "Come with me if you want to live, kid." I said "What you talkin' bout Willis" and he said "Well you are younger than me so I can call you kid, kinda" When we are together we have very deep discussions. Our friends can see us dating and we have dinner occasionally. Our age difference never came up. Do guys flip over a little year and a half difference? Am I overthinking this? Or does he want to establish boundaries by belittling me and treating me like his younger sister.
