If a car goes from 0-60 MPH in about 8 seconds, how long does it take for the car to travel a mile?

Report as

At 60 mph about 1 minute.

Report as

does it remain at 60 mph or keep going? If so What is the car weight, Horse power,Torque, gear ratios. How is the condition of the road? How is the condition of the suspension and the tires?

all these impact the final result!

Report as
Well the car we decided to use is a 2005 Saab Linear Wagon.... I am not sure of the statistics exactly...
Report as
8 seconds for 60 mph would mean around 22 seconds for a quarter of a mile

and about 70 seconds.if the car still has it's speed limiter on. and 58 seconds if not!

its'ok! on my ariplane harrier comment i said that IF the harrier had oxygen tanks direcly conected to the burner in the turbines. THEN the harrier and the plane would be able to go in space only the plane has jet engeines..

Pressurisation wise i would actually remove the airplane!

The harrier can get throught earth radioactive feild. Thought it would severly damage the pilot!

English please... I don't speak technical language(:

How far does it travel while accelerating to 60 ( that's the first thing to figure out (is that calculus?) ), how long does it take to do that ( that's the second thing ) and the third thing would be to subtract the distance needed from the first part from 1 mile and the remainder would be traveled at 60 mph. So... Anybody got a good handle on calculus?
