What did i do to my foot?

When i was at basketball practice today i came down on my left foot wrong and for a second it kind of felt numb. I shook it off and kept playing but it hurt pretty bad so i sat out for the last five minutes of practice. When i got home i took off my shoe and sock and about in the middle, off to the right some (About maybe 3 inches behind my big toe) is a huge bump and it was red and a little white on some places (Now its red and a little blue). And about from where the bump is, to where the foot and leg meet and curve, its a little swollen through there.

im okay to stand on it, but i still feel pain when i walk. it hurts really bad to move my foot back in the direction of my leg. And it hurts to move it in a circle.

What do you think is wrong? Is it just a sprain, did i pull something, should i get it checked out? The bump is still as big as it was when it happened this morning.

Thanks for your help!

You may have either sprained or broken your toe. Get a doctor to look at it, and in the mean time try and stay off of it, keep it elevated, and put a cold pack on it. Tell your parents about it, too.

There are several small bones int the foot all with connective tissue. Yoy could have cracked or broken one of those small bones or badly sprained something in there.
