First things first. The controversial mosque isn't on the exact site. It is within a couple of blocks. Secondly, a list of a few businesses in the same area. Strip club, liquor stores and head shops that sell drug paraphernalia. Finally, New York has zoning laws. None of them dictate what type of church you may build. If the question is "is it a good idea?" the answer is probably "no". It's callous and offensive to a lot of people.
Absolutely. America is freedom of Religion and Expression. American Muslims did NOTHING wrong, we should stop discriminating against them. Asian Americans didn#039;t bomb Pearl Harbor, but look at how shamefully we treated them. let#039;s NOT repeat mistakes of the past. Good Luck on your paper!
Historically, when an Islamic army invaded a country they built a mosque on the battle field after they won. Putting a mosque at ground zero could be seen as a symbol of the terrorists victory. It could open up old wounds again.
Yes, the site is several blocks from ground zero, those people did nothing wrong, their mosque has nothing to do with 9-11, they are just worshipping their god, the way the constitution of this country guarantees they have the right to do.
