SUCCESS To laugh often & much ; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded! …….Ralph Waldo Emerson
It's interesting that I read people say health and happiness. If a person gets cancer does that mean they are unsuccessful? I don't think so. Happy is on my list of success. But It is how you attain it that is also important. A happy criminal doesn't count on my list. It matters what you do to, or for the people around you. So with that said, success means achieving your goals and helping in some way, others.Giving is a very important part of human satisfaction. When we help others we show that we are useful to the world and and that makes us purposeful, and therefore successful. So There are many people who did not achieve financial success but gave to the world in such a way because they believed in something and benefited themselves and others. It's a way not to be selfish, and success is part of that.
I consider people (especially singles) are successful when they have combined study with work and have reached a point where they are independent and can live comfortably on their own. Any woman who hangs her star on a man who has a steady job today may regret that decision down the road about 40 years from when her husband decides to dump her and hook up with a super model (who will dump him in a year). What does a woman do who has never studied or held a decent job in her life?
Success varies between people. Success is what according to you your life would look like. According to me, developing a strong vision of what you will look like is concise and perfect definition for describing success.
