I don't think twenty dollars will get you a very good repair, but the company "Rotten Apples" really helped me. Here is their website: http://rotten-apples.net/ They can repair it, depending on the generation, from $50- $100. Hope this helps! :) Good luck!
Well if you have a new iPod (bought it within a year) you have a warranty, but keep in mind they won't fix everything for you if you purposely caused it. I know I got a free charger for my iPod because it got a short in the cord. Call the apple store and see what they can do for you.
