Two question concerning the new Pope and the St. Malachy prophecy:
1) I've read that St. Malachy only predicted 111 popes (ending with Gloria Olivae - The Glory of the Olive, or Pope Benedict XVI) and that an Olivetan historian added Petrus Romanus (Peter the Roman) in the 1500s when the prophecy was published. Is this true?
2) Whether or not it is true, how would Pope Francis I fit into this prophecy? Although I would prefer to have facts rather than speculation, I don't mind (I have a couple of theories of my own ;) )
Please note that I don't take this prophecy to be the Gospel-Truth. Although I think it's interesting that Malachy was fairly accurate up to this point, I'm not entirely convinced that it is true.
