Why wont my bruise go away on my foot/ankle i have had it for 6 months should i go to the doctor?

I hit my foot on a propeller blade of a boat back six months ago. i never went to the doctor due to no insurance, i can still see the bruise clearly like the day that it happened. I have to "pop" it multiple times a day or it will feel stiff but after popping it the ankle/foot starts to throb and feel cold. Is it to late to go see the doctor? if so what can i do myself to not have it hurt so much without living on pain pills?

While I think a deep tissue massage would help the body remove some of the damaged cells and accelerate healing, almost any injury should have healed after 6 months. It sounds to me like you should definitely go see a doctor, while I know it is expensive, if you want to insure that your ankle works correctly for the rest of your life you need an expert to have a look at it.

You answered your own question. 6 months is too long, make an appointment and go to the doctor.

I don't think it's too late to go to a doctor by any means, I would go see a doctor ASAP and see what happened to your ankle. It's important you get the proper care so it will not continue to get worse.
