Who was the first person that invented the light bulb?
Edison...Thomas Edison so you don't get a bad mark for not knowing his first name as well...
It was actually Humphrey Davy, a scientist in England, but Edison gave us the one that we still use today. BTW, thank you History Channel, it ain't like I learned this in "publik skool"!
They call him Thomas Alva Edison
Thomas Edison made the first lightbulb using cardboard on the inside of the light :p
Thomas Edison invented the light bulb that's used in America
Tony737 is correct with Humphrey Davy in 1802. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incandescent_light_bulbInteresting to note... Edison came up with a lightbulb made of carbon filiments in 1879 .... after he purchased the patent to a carbon filiment lightbulb from 2 Canadians in 1874. U.S. Patent 0,181,613 http://www.google.com/patents?id=yNVbAAAAEBAJ&pg=PA1&source=gbs_selected_pages&cad=1#v=onepage&q&f=false
