How can I make my iPod battery last longer?

my iPod loses its battery life so fast. I'll be on it for two minuets and it goes down to 50%. I'm going on a trip soon an it's a 5 hr ride. what can I do to save battery life or should I bring a portable charger?

First of all, if your iPod has like a higher version, you can try to double press the round button at the bottom of your iPod. If a bunch of games rolls into the screen, press on one of the games and after 2 seconds, you'll see minus signs in red circles (i think) on the left top side of the game. Press on it and the game will disappear. Do it until there is nothing there in the category.
Secondly, let your iPod die completely then charge it for at least 10 hours.
Thirdly, make sure ur iPod isn't exposed to cold weather because that will make it die a lot faster.
Finally, turn ur bluetooth, volume and brightness off so ur battery will last longer

keep the brightness down. And when you're done with an app, go into your taskbar and close out of it. Don't play a lot of 3d games. Leave bluetooth off when you're not using it.

First, use it all the way until it's completely dead. Second, charge it all the way and repeat twice. It will give your Ipod lots of power!

Keep the brightness down. Like at 1/4 brightness. Dont play games, or only at a few minutes at a time. Only keep one app running at a time. If your listening to music, keep the volume dowm. And if you sleep, just turn it off

use up all your battery then leave it dead for 5-10 hours, then charge it up completely. I've tried this on my own i pod touch and the battery lasted much longer!

Turn down brightness and definitely turn off the wi-fi feature, searching for connections and other devices is a big battery killer.

Make sure that Charge your iPod fully when it has discharged, even if you don't intend to use it. This will keep the battery working consistently. Remove your iPod from any carrying case prior to charging it. Avoid using your iPod in extreme temperatures, or leaving it in direct sunlight. The battery performs best at standard room temperature, which is approximately 20 degrees Celsius.

Double tap the circle button with the white square outline on it so you can see the apps that are currently active, press the red circle on top of the apps you don't use, so the iPod doesn't drain power out of the apps you don't use that are on.

Turn the brightness down and turn off wi-fi connectivity when you are not in a hotspot. Don't keep it plugged into a socket for longer than it needs to become fully charged, or you will cause the battery to lose some of its ability to hold a charge.

1. If you are connected to a mobile network, turn off your WI-FI.
2.Unless it is worth killing your battery, turn bluetooth off.
3.Turn brightness down to the lowest comfortable setting, then down one more.
4.Turn off location services (GPS).
5.NEVER TURBO CHARGE YOUR BATTERY! This can cause SERIOUS damage!
6.Bring one of those portable batteries that you charge ahead of time and plug it in when your battery is low.
