What % of money donated to the Susan G. Komen actually gets spent on cancer research or rehabilitation?

Report as

I think 17%
But that's still 17% they didn't have before

It is more then they had before but in good conscious, I can't donate mine or anyone else's money to an organization that keeps more then they give.
There are so many other Cancer Organization's that give so much more to the fight.
I lost my Significant Other to the Big C and I fought the battle years later myself. Cancer doesn't just affect your body, it affects your family, your mental well being and your finances.
It's taken me years to finally get back on my feet financially after having 2 of us fight the battle. It wasn't the Komen Foundation that helped me, it was the smaller grassroots organizations that were there for us. That's who I now choose to donate my money to.

You're not having to donate anything. And as for it being a breast cancer foundation, I had brain cancer, cancer anywhere is terrible for anyone to have. It just seems pointless to me for someone to choose not to do that with it being such a simple process

I'm happy to hear that you also won your battle. And yes, it is a simple process to sign up. I just don't agree with this particular organization any longer.
I respect your opinion on the issue and your willingness to place your support behind Komen. I hope in turn, you can respect my opinion not to.

I can, I just don't get it =(

Not enough. The Organization has become top heavy with paid employees. When it first began, it was a Grassroots effort and a means to honor Susan's life. If Joshua is correct, then for every dollar donated 17 cents goes to fight the cure and 83 cents goes to overhead and employees.

They make a lot more than a dollar. Legs say they make a million one year, they'll have donated $170,000 to breast cancer, and it doesn't cost you anything to sign up but a moment of your time

Ok, why the link? It just took me to another question and I was unable to read the comments in your answer as I'm on my Iphone.

Never mind, I apologize, I found the question and comments. I'm glad you understand why I, as a cancer survivor, refuse to donate to that particular organization.
