Why can't girls have the equal part of sports area as boys have?

Report as

Because there are more boys playing sports than girls. OR there are more boys sports going on than girls.

Best answer--it's the truth.

I don't think anyone understood this question but us...

Indeed. The question was about sports space, and that's why we have a Title IX law to give girls not quite equal sporting facilities, and why guys have been whining about Title IX ever since.

saying that the segregation is sexist is a sexist comment in itself because you are connoting that women are held to the same standards, can perform equally well, and are not given the opportunity because of pregidous motivation. YOU are the one thats making it an issue of sexism.

What you fail to understand in your little mind is that women are physically DIFFERENT than males and males are naturally better athletes and should be held to different standards. If you honestly think that there are female equivalents to Tony Romo, Mark McGuire, David Beckham, and Wayne Gretzky... then by all means call the system sexist.

But maybe you should realize that women just CANT COMPETE with their male counterparts and it so happens that the sports world IS NOT sexist in that there are leagues for these women to compete! It also so happens that (i.e. basketball) women are not so interesting to watch, therefore they get less of an audience, less income comes to the team, hence lower paid players.

Open your mind and dont be so quick to judge things just because women dont tend to do as well when it comes to sports.
Report as
I just also want to add, the Williams sisters dominate the tennis world. OMG that's so sexist! (sarcasm)

its sad how people want to use racism, sexism, whatever as a fall back excuse for their short-comings.

Before or after Title IX? The issue isn't segregation--the issue is available resources. Please re-read the question.
Report as
I read the question. and then I read slipknots answer. And then i commented. I dont know what more you could ask of me. I see nothing about resources. And 'slipknot' definitely made the issue about segregation with his/her stupid comment.
Report as
Well maybe women are just starting to "evolve into it" I mean female comedians are crap when generalized... however, there are a good dozen genuinly funny ones. The numbers will grow in time.
Report as
dude. im being sarcastic. I really dont care. but im glad you have such a stong opinion on the matter and feel the need to preach it as if its going to change how other people feel on the subject. I literally said one word. in no way is that an opinion. its a controversial topic which gives anyone the ability to call the opposing arguments side shallow minded and uneducated. when in actuality, your interpretation is inaccurate. thanks for trying, though. have a wonderful day, good sir
Report as
There is no persuasion going on in my comments. It matters to me not how you think. I just wanted to inform you that you are a very stupid person.

HEY! Slipkontt 96! I donno who you're calling inaccurate in their interpretations, but you sir... You are quite a good troll... if i do say so myself.

Bravo. *clap Clap CLAP*

and im calling schultz inaccurate because he assumed that im stupid, uneducated and opinionated on the matter based on my one worded post "sexism" xD some people are too easily offended
Report as
A feminist may be offended by a slant against their gender... but I find it hard to fathom how someone could be offended by actually refuting the idea of a progressive movement such as 'feminism'. Or to say it so you may understand...

Its like if a pig learned how to dance, but he sucked at dancing. So a donkey came and kicked the pig. The donkey wasnt offended that the pig was dancing, the dancing just sucked. Does that make more sense? I hope you can understand... I dont know how to make things much simpler for people like you than to refer to barnyard animals :/
Report as
that makes perfect sense. youre the pig and im the ass that just kicked you.

You won't find many men that way either. It's why in boxing, there's such a thing as weight categories. There's no reason why a girl can't whup a boy in the same weight class.

Then you have to change all the rules and the locker areas, you can't have a 135 lb.
female tackled by a 225 lb male without injuries, and men and women can't be sharing locker rooms. This is why there are men's and women's divisions.

Dead wrong. The question is about resources being equal for girls as for boys, an issue that was attempted to be addressed by Title IX. Girls' sports have always been shortchanged compared to boys', and there's no excuse for that.

I read the question wrong

Women just had the first UFC women's championship... Do you really want to watch that with both sex's? The public would be horrified! The world in general is just not ready to see that. But we're getting there... soon domestic violence will be a champion in training! Am I right ladies? :D

Some would want to watch that and some wouldn't. Same is true of any sport, boys or girls. The public would not be horrified--just guys, so that brings sexism into the equation again.
Report as
Well personally...
I think that if women desire to be respected and equalized.
They should focus more on bettering the world within politics, science, agriculture, and society in general.
Sports, should not be in this "equation".
I hear many young woman make the same case as you and yet... do nothing about it but post a complaint over the internet.
I will join any fight worth fighting for... but you need an army to change this one. So, because of this... Sexism will always be in the equation and when the fire settles from this arguement... no one will care.

Women arent good at sports... if you hold them on the same standards as we hold our male athletes, there would be no (or very very few) women athletes period. So they have their own leagues with lower standards of course.

Nothing could be further from the truth. And there are guys who are lousy at sports, which is why those guys never make a school team no matter what school we're talking about.

I'm not sure I follow your question. If you're saying girls should be allowed to play sports with the boys, that would be very unfair to both sides. Would you want boys to play on a girls team and possibly dominate the sport? Not fair. And if your question is why aren't there girl versions of all boy sports, there aren't all that many missing. Title 9 has changed college sports for women to put them on an equal footing. I don't think women have much to complain about when it comes to sports.

Title 9 was a necessity because without it, sexism would still keep girls out of sports.
Report as
Never said say it wasn't. It gave women's sports the equal footing they were looking for,

Women just don't have what it takes to gather a sizable fan base in sports anyways. Fan base equals money$$. Although seeing the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders in action is a good draw. They can't and probably never will compete be able to compete with the male counterpart in sports, contact sports. Although tennis might be different, although Bobbie Riggs was a lot older then Billie Jean King when she whipped him.

I agree... like sex, Girls do that waaaaay better than guys. I'm serious. Go to a bar... you have options! Guys have to try, you don't.
I applaud all of women kind!
Also Cleaning and cooking.... I can only cook on an open fire. All that recipe crap... Women rock at that.
I never know what shoes to buy... until I bring a female friend! So much better than me.. a man.

Don't even get me started on who can get drunk faster!

Except for gather a large fan base or make millions of dollars just by stepping on the field. You never see any die hard girls sports fans, "I am a die hard sparks fan" nope. There are so many people in the sports world that have probably never even heard of the sparks, much less be able to name another WNBA team, I know I can't without a little research... So I don't know if this comment can really be taken literally CountryGirl_Pride... Lol
